Multi-platinum hip-hop artist Eminem will release Relapse: Refill on December 21ST, 2009, on Aftermath/Interscope Records. This re-release of Eminem’s chart-topping fifth studio album includes seven bonus tracks, including the single “Forever”, also featuring Drake, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne (previously found on the More Than A Game soundtrack), “Taking My Ball” (also released only with the DJ Hero video game), and five never-before-heard tracks.??
    "I want to deliver more material for the fans this year like I originally planned" Eminem says. "Hopefully these tracks on The Refill will tide the fans over until we put out Relapse 2 next year". Eminem has been busy in the studio creating even more new material since Relapse was released. "I got back in with Dre and then a few more producers, including Just Blaze, and went in a completely different direction which made me start from scratch. The new tracks started to sound very different than the tracks I originally intended to be on Relapse 2, but I still want the other stuff to be heard." ??

One of the most anticipated albums of the year, the platinum-selling Relapse entered the Billboard Top 200 album chart at No. 1 in May 2009 and sold more than 618,000 domestic copies in the U.S. in its first week. Relapse is also the top selling hip-hop album of 2009. The first song to debut from the album, "Crack a Bottle", was released in February and set a first-week record for digital sales at the time, while the first official single and video, "We Made You", debuted in April. The best-selling hip-hop artist of the SoundScan era, Eminem has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide. His previous studio album, Encore, reached No. 1 and dominated the charts in late 2004. The Grammy-nominated disc was certified quadruple-platinum, generated four Top 40 Hot 100 hits, and has sold more than 11 million copies. In October 2008, Eminem published Eminem: The Way I Am, a compilation of thoughts, stories and memorabilia that entered the New York Times bestseller list at No. 11.

As Eminem told followers of his Twitter blog last week, the hip-hop superstar has completed shooting the video for “Beautiful” — the fourth single from his platinum album Relapse — in Detroit. The video was directed by Anthony Mandler.

The video was filmed at noted Detroit landmarks, now past their prime though in many ways now more iconic than ever. Through locations such as the once-grand Beaux-Arts train station (Michigan Central Station, which was built in 1913), the original Tiger Stadium (built in 1912), and the old Packard Motor Car Company plant (established in 1903), the viewer sees both Detroit's grand past and very real present, and Eminem finds in Detroit a new metaphor for the lyrical content of the song.

"Tiger Stadium is being torn down, and the train station is supposed to be demolished too. This video is one of the last times anybody outside of Detroit is going to see them," commented Eminem. "I wrote 'Beautiful' when I was really down, during a difficult time struggling with my addiction. It's a reminder to keep your head up, and to see who you really are despite what you may be going through. Now that I've gotten through the toughest part, I see how the song relates to Detroit, and it feels even more powerful to me."

Eminem’s first album since 2004’s 4x-platinum Encore, Relapse went platinum within four weeks of its release by Interscope Records on May 19th. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart, selling more than 608,000 copies in the U.S., and more than one million worldwide, in its first week alone.

The music video for “3 a.m.,” the third track to be released from Eminem’s forthcoming album, “Relapse,” was directed by Syndrome. The “3 a.m.” video will air just prior to Cinemax’s Saturday night pay television premiere of the horror film The Strangers starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman, and will continue to air on the network in May.

Eminem has teamed up with Nike to create a limited edition run of the company's Air Max series shoe. The effort will go towards raising money for the lyricist's Marshall Mathers Foundation and ninemillion.org. Eminem will design limited-edition uppers of eight different shoes in the series, from the Air Max '87 to Air Max 360. Sixty-four pairs of shoes will be produced before being numbered and autographed by the rapper and auctioned off over a four-week period at Nike stores worldwide and on eBay, beginning Aug. 31. "We're always looking for new ways to try to raise money and awareness for the foundation, so when Nike approached us we jumped at the chance," Eminem said. "Who wouldn't want to design their own line of Nikes? And to do it for charity makes it that much better."
